Heritage management plan

The Australian War Memorial is listed on the

• Commonwealth Heritage List
• National Heritage List
• Register of the National Estate
• ACT Royal Australian Institute of Architects National Heritage List and Register of Significant Twentieth Century Architecture
• ACT National Trust Register

In accordance with the heritage management principles and requirements as set out in the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation Act 1999 (C’wlth) , the Memorial has in place a Heritage Management Plan (16.7 Mb).

The Heritage Management Plan was endorsed by the Australian Heritage Council in December 2010.  The plan is a practical guide for conserving, managing and interpreting the site’s heritage and is supported by the following documents:

All documents have been developed by the Memorial and Godden Mackay Logan, Heritage Consultants
