Artist Profiles
The Australian War Memorial houses one of the nation's great collections of art. There are over 30,000 works produced by some of our greatest artists. A significant portion of the collection consists of works commissioned under the official war art scheme, in which artists were appointed to portray Australian involvement in war.
The biographies presented here cover a small but significant selection of all the artists represented in the collection. They were written by staff of the Memorial's Art Section.
