The mess, HMAS Kanimbla
Description
Sketch of ten heads of soldiers eating and relaxing in the Mess on the RAN ship HMAS Kanimbla in the North Persian Gulf. The heads are in various states of completion. Peter Churcher recalled, "This drawing was done down in the Mess at dinner time. Everyone was eating fast and moving all the time so I just took quick sketches of individual heads and groups as they ate".
