Description

Australian Second World War poster one of a series issued by the Department of Information, Advertising Division to emphasis the importance of industrial production on the home front to the overall war effort. The series links images of men fighting at the front with images of women at work. This poster depicts a woman holding two piles of new clothes in the centre of the poster; beneath her are two images, one of men operating machinery in a machine shop, the other of soldiers in the jungle. The title text is positioned centre top printed in blue and in the centre in red. In the lower left, within the industry image is a small image of a sinking ship with warning 'Don't talk, idle gossip may sink a clothing ship'.
