What a wonderful story. Its great to get to know the person. Women provided a huge contribution to industry while the men where away. Their stories are often overlooked. And its sound like Val continues to be busy. Good on her and good on the Australian War Memorial historian who recognised Vals contribution to Australia.

Thank you all for your very positive comments. I am pleased - but not surprised - that you felt a connection to Valerie's story.

George - The Second World War Nominal Rolls at www.ww2roll.gov.au indicate that Valerie's father was born at Mt Morgan, Qld on 6 November 1900.

Cheers, Paul
