Monday 5th April 1915- Diary of HV Reynolds
Diary of an ANZAC
Please note: Care has been taken to transcribe these entries without alteration to preserve the original language of Herbert Vincent Reynolds.
‘We completed loading this morning when the engineers who are on board hoisted their pontoons and wagons on board, and we packed the remaining bundles of fodder in the hold this afternoon. At 4.30pm we weighed anchor and set out for an unknown* destination, through of course it will be somewhere in the Dardanelles.’
*To ensure the success of the landing a little information as possible was passed to the troops before they needed it.
