Friday 9th July 1915- Diary of HV Reynolds
Diary of an ANZAC
Please note: Care has been taken to transcribe these entries without alteration to preserve the original language of Herbert Vincent Reynolds.
‘Things have been very quiet. An outbreak of rifle fire occurred last night about midnight but it soon died down. Both our artillery and the enemies have been in the habit lately of getting into action just after sunset.’
For the classroom: There are many reasons why an attack would begin at sunset. Discuss in groups and list all the reasons.
