After an 8 hour flight from Sydney we have gathered at Singapore airport. From here it is another 12 hours to Istanbul via Dubai. Five hours of this flight is over the Australian Outback. Amazing views made even better by the long sunset effect as we chase the setting sun.

Many thanks to Ian Affleck for the use of his own Glyphoscope (or stereo camera). This is similar to the type used at Gallipoli during the campaign to take the images in the P02647 series. My aim is to take some matching images to this series to give a very different set of then and now images.

This is not a new technology. No digital effects here. This is a very simple camera that creates two slightly offset images at the same time. When these images are developed and viewed through a stereo viewer the effect is a very effective 3D image.
