Description

Collection relating to the First World War service of Captain Thomas Walter White DFC, Mesopotamian Half Flight, Australian Flying Corps [AFC]. Collection consists of an original diary (in several parts) kept by Captain White while a prisoner of war (POW) in Turkey. Also included is a typescript of the diary, a Russian-French dictionary, a notebook with translations, POW statements and letters relating to Captain White's incarceration, plus other souvenirs he collected.
