Collection of papers relating to Field Marshal Lord William Birdwood, commander of the Australian Imperial Force during the First World War. The papers consist of diaries, correspondence, draft speeches, photographs, scrapbooks, newspaper cuttings, original orders and reports of battles for Gallipoli and Bullecourt. Other material, including a certificate from the Mayor of Hobart, relates to Birdwood's visit to Australia in 1920.
