For twenty years prior to the Welcome Home in 1987, the majority of Veterans felt that they had been forgotten by the rest of the Australian people. Two 'identity discs' made from printing plates are beneath the photo etching. The work comments on the enduring impact of the war experience on soldiers and their families.
