New Guinea lull of stand down
Description
At this time fighting in New Guinea was limited to patrol work. With so much inactivity and, apart from routine training, relief from boredom was essential. The Amenities Service played a big part in easing the situation, and the men contributed to the relief by souvenir making, walkabouts and sport.
