Studio portrait of 659 Private (Pte) Daniel Ritchie McFarlane, 13th Battalion. A labourer from Annandale, NSW prior to enlistment, Pte McFarlane embarked with F Company from Melbourne on HMAT Ulysses on 22 December 1914. Whilst serving at Gallipoli, he was killed in action on 3 May 1915, aged 20, and is commemorated on the Lone Pine Memorial
