Description

Private E. J. J. (Ted) Neylan, 2nd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (2RAR), of Glass House Mountain, Qld, and Private Merve Morgan, 2RAR, of Rockhampton, Qld, shake hands with two Communist soldiers of a demolition party. The Chinese were preparing to demolish tunnels which they had dug to within 100 metres of the Australian defensive positions along the Hook feature. Taken the day after the cease-fire this sort of fraternization was quickly stopped by the higher authorities of both sides.
