- Kimpo airfield, Korea, c. 1951-03. Three members of the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR), waiting to board a Douglas C47 Dakota aircraft (rear) to fly to Japan for rest and recreation leave. The soldiers are, left to right: 3/918 Staff Sergeant K.B. Lynch, Company Quartermaster Sergeant; 2/2680 Corporal Tim Daly, Machine Gun Platoon; 1/400064 Private T. Spencer Smith, who was later killed in action (KIA) at Kapyong. The Dakota aircraft probably belongs to No. 86 Transport Wing RAAF. (Donor I. Robertson)
