- Warrant Officer Lionel Orreal from the 1st Military Police Battalion passes an Iraqi woman wearing the traditional burka while on patrol outside the former Australian Embassy residence, Baghdad. During Operation Falconer, the 1st Military Police Battalion operated as part of the Australian Security Detachment (SECDET) responsible for providing protection to Australian Diplomats in Iraq. The 1st Military Police Battalion operated in the Middle East as part of the Australian Defence Force's commitment to the coalition forces assembled to enforce Iraq's compliance with its international obligations to disarm.
