Description
Letter of condolence written to Miss Darryl Druce regarding the death of Private Peter White, 4 February 1953. White enlisted with the Australian Military Forces in 1951 and served in Korea with 3 Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (3RAR) from 1952. He was presumed killed in action on 14 January 1953, when severely wounded by an enemy grenade while fighting with Chinese forces. The letter is written by White's Company Commander, and describes the incident as well as the possibility of White being well cared for as a prisoner of war.
