Description

File of papers relating to the First World War service of Colonel John Monash, 4th Infantry Brigade. This file, originally part of Book 1, covers 15 December 1914 to 5 January 1915 and includes further instructions on the establishment of Battalions and the appointment of their commanding officers. It also includes a number of 'Brigade training exercises', lists of officers and soldiers recommended for promotion, the authorisation for Monash to conduct and oversee courts martial, a menu from the Savoy hotel, and a New Year's Day menu from the SS Ulysses.
