File of papers relating to the First World War service of Brigadier General John Monash, 4th Infantry Brigade. This file, originally part of Book 11, covers 31 January 1916 to 29 February 1916 and includes an exchange of messages between Monash and Lieutenant Colonel Sydney Herring regarding the conduct of Major Storey, tactical scenarios for brigade training, tables relating to the division of tents for the 4th Infantry Brigade, the outline for a test to enter the Machine Gun Section, a drawing visualising the components of a battalion, a mention of the court-martial of 1361 Private Charles Stevens, and an account of the evacuation of ANZAC by Dr. John William Springthorpe of No. 2 Australian General Hospital.
