Overalls : Petty Officer J Daniels, HMAS Kanimbla
Grey standard issue size 97R Royal Australian Navy cotton drill overalls with petty officer ranks slides on epaulettes and a white cloth name tape over right breast. The surname of 'Daniels' and 'POB' is handwritten in black ink on the white name tape . There are several small stains on the object and the letter 'K' is handwritten on the inside collar over the washing instructions. On the collar and on the ends of both trouser legs are velco size adjusting tabs. There are seven small metal press studs on the front of the overalls. On both sleeves are two 40mm wide reflective tape bands machine sewn near both elbows.
Petty Officer 'Jack' Daniels is featured in an artwork by the Official War Artist Peter Churcher (ART91787). These overalls however do not appear to be the overalls from the painting, but another pair he wore during his service in HMAS Kanimbla as part of the International Coalition against Terrorism.
