| Description | Group portrait of three unidentified Australian soldiers wearing sheepskin vests. Sheep or goatskin vests were issued in the winter of 1916-17 as it was the coldest winter, on the Somme, for over a decade. From the Thuillier collection of glass plate negatives. Taken by Louis and Antoinette Thuillier in Vignacourt, France during the period 1916 to 1918. |
