| Description | Group portrait of soldiers from the 52nd Battalion. Identified front row, far left is 3400 Sgt John Alexander Spence. The 52nd Battalion was largely made up of men transferred from the 12th Battalion hence the cancelled 12th Battalion colour patch worn by this group. (See also P10550.014, P10550.028 and P10550.029) From the Thuillier collection of glass plate negatives. Taken by Louis and Antoinette Thuillier in Vignacourt, France during the period 1916 to 1918. |
