| Description | Group portrait of members of the 52nd Battalion. Identified front row, centre, is 3400 Sgt John Alexander Spence, Fremantle, WA; second row, second from left is 3382 Pte Oscar Lundgren, also from Fremantle, WA. The 52nd Battalion was largely made up of men transferred from the 12th Battalion hence the cancelled 12th Battalion colour patch worn by this group. The unit mascot for the 8th Field Abulance, a monkey named 'Jenny' sits on the shoulder of a soldier in the second row, centre.
