| Description | Original grave marker of 1128 Sergeant (Sgt) Herbert Wilson Gray, 29th Battalion, in Vignacourt cemetery. Sgt Gray, a carpenter from North Walsham, England, embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Ascanius (A11) on 10 November 1915. He died of wounds on 10 August 1918, aged 28. From the Thuillier collection of glass plate negatives. Taken by Louis and Antoinette Thuillier in Vignacourt, France during the period 1916 to 1918. (See P06902.001 for portrait) |
