| Description | Original grave cross of 279 Corporal (Cpl) Frederick John Joyce Woodhouse, 25th Battalion. An iron-worker from Mackay in Queensland, Cpl Woodhouse enlisted in December 1914. He was wounded in April 1918 while in a night party working in the support lines. Cpl Woodhouse died at the 20th Casualty Clearing Station, a few days later, on 18 April, and was buried at Vignacourt on the same day. From the Thuillier collection of glass plate negatives. Taken by Louis and Antoinette Thuillier in Vignacourt, France during the period 1916 to 1918. |
