Objective:

By looking at one family's experiences, students gain an understanding of the impact of war on successive generations of Australians over the last century.

The program:

Experience trench life in the First World War. Join the navy in the Second World War. Do a tour of duty in the Vietnam War. Through role-playing and hands-on activities students learn about the impact of war on successive generations of an Australian family during the last century. The theme is then pursued through a tour of relevant galleries.

Please note: This program will be available only during Terms 1 and 2. New programs will replace Family at War in Terms 3 and 4 when the new Discovery Zone opens. Details of the new Discovery Zone education programs will be available soon. In the meantime, to book a program in the Discovery Zone, make a booking for Family at War.

Price: $4.40 per student, minimum charge $48.40 (incl. GST)

Duration: 1.5 hours
