Discovery Zone

The Discovery Zone is a “hands on” space for students to discover the experiences of ordinary Australians living in extraordinary times. It consists of five environments: a First World War trench, a Second World War backyard, an Oberon class submarine, a Vietnam helicopter and a typical peacekeeping scenario.

Bookings for the Discovery Zone are essential. Spaces are already filling up for 2008, so book early to avoid disappointment.

We have two visit options for the Discovery Zone in 2008:

1. In Their Shoes

2. Discovery Detectives

Maximum number: 60 (limit of two sessions per school)
Cost: $1.65 per student
Teachers will be assisted to guide students through the five environments of the Discovery Zone and help them to understand the conditions Australians have faced in wartime.

Discovery Detectives sessions start on the hour and half hour and are available 10am-12:30pm and 1.30pm-4:30pm.

The Discovery Zone is not available for school bookings on weekends and during ACT/NSW school and public holidays.
