Anthony Gross CBE RA (1905–1984)
Painter, etcher and film-maker, Gross studied at the Slade and Central Schools in London, and the Académie Julian and Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris. He was offered a number of commissions before serving as an official artist in the Middle East and India. He joined the D-Day landings with the 50th Division.
