The Discovery of HMAS Sydney
On 19 November 1941 the cruiser HMAS Sydney was lost in action with the German auxiliary cruiser Kormoran off the Western Australian coast, no one on the Sydney survived.
On 17 March 2008 the Australian Government announced that the wreckage of both HMAS Sydney and the German raider Kormoran had been found.
War Memorial seeks 96,000 photos of fallen Australians
The Memorial is looking for photographs of every man and woman listed on the Roll of Honour.
