The Eastern Precinct Development
Landscape
The Eastern Precinct Development is the last phase of the Memorial’s Site Development Plan. The landscape design for the Eastern Precinct reinforces the character of open natural landscape in contrast to the more formal Western Precinct. New Eucalypt plantings and replacement of trees lost to drought and redevelopment will extend the landscape character of Mt Ainslie in to the Memorial site. Existing coach parking will be replaced with a formal landscape Memorial Courtyard with a new memorial to National Service. Coach parking moves to the North East of the site and will be screened by new plantings.
