First published in a much smaller volume in 1921, this updated version of the service history of the Fifth (Victorian) Infantry Battalion 1st AIF was published in 2002. The Fifth Battalion, of the all Victorian Second Infantry Brigade was formed in 1914 sailing amoungst the first contingent bound for Egypt, and participated in the assault on the beaches of Gallipoli, on 25 April 1915.

Emblazoned on their colours are such names as Pozieres, Menin Road and Amiens.

Includes the Fifth Battalions Nominal Roll of 6000.
