Little Hell - The Story of the 2/22nd Battalion and Lark Force
Compiled by Carl Johnson
The Victorian raised 2/22nd Battalion and the attached units of Lark Force were sent in 1941 to Rabaul, New Britain to defend the island from Japanese attack. When the assault took place on 23rd January 1942 it was the first attack on Australian territory over which the Australian flag flew. This is the story of those 1500 men who fought bravely against a vastly superior Japanese force. There are many previously unpublished diaries, personal accounts and photographs of the story of the members of this Battalion and Lark Force. Hardback, illustrated, Nominal Roll, 310 pages.
