To hell and back MP3 audio book
The banned account of Gallipoli by Sydney Loch
To hell and back was originally published during the First World War as "The Straits Impregnable", Sydney Loch's first hand account of Gallipoli. Described in its day as a novel, the book was withdrawn from sale when Australian military censors realised that Loch had actually written an eyewitness account of the horror of war. Historians Susanna and Jake de Vries have recovered and edited Sydney's book for a new generation and written a biography of his remarkable life.
