A colourful and lively account of Harry Giesen's escapes, captures and on-leave escapades during the Second World War. Harry's story begins in 1939 when he enlists for active service in the 2nd AIF at the age of 19. It moves quickly to the campaign in Crete, where he serves as a Sniper, and from there to 3 and half years of incarceration in a German POW camp. He and a mate escape several times, finally meeting up with the Partisans in Yugoslavia who rescue them and guide them to safety. Soft cover, photographs, 219 pages.
