The Memorial's aircraft collection includes an American-built Mustang P-51D fighter, as used by the RAAF. P-51D Mustangs were flown operationally by the RAAF in Italy during the Second World War, and later during the Korean War. This accurate and highly detailed 1:48 scale diecast replica recreates a P-51D Mustang of 76 Squadron RAAF. The Squadron received its Mustangs in late 1945 while based at Labuan, and in 1946 took them to Japan as part of the Allied occupation forces. A beautiful addition to any collection, this replica is part of the popular Hobby Master Air Power series.
