The Spitfire HF (High Flying) Mk VIII was developed from the high altitude Mk VII. Mk VIIIs saw service in the Mediterranean, India, Burma and Australia. RAAF Spitfire A58-602 arrived in Australia in October 1944 but did not reach 457 Squadron until January 23, 1945. The aircraft was flown by Wing Commander H.R. Gibbes, who ended the war with 10 victories.
This superb 1:48 scale replica is made from diecast metal, with minimal plastic parts. The canopy slides open and the pilot can be removed. The landing gear is fully retractable, and a display stand is included. Perfect for collectors, this replica comes fully painted and assembled in a presentation box.
