This classic documentary of Australia’s Vietnam War investigates the famous battle of Long Tan, when D Company, a patrol of untried Australians and New Zealanders, held off two heavily armed Viet Cong regiments outnumbering them 20 - 1. In a grim fire fight in the monsoonal rain, the Viet Cong lost over 500 men to D Companies 18. For their amazing feat D Company were awarded the US Presidential Unit Citation for Gallantry, the Vietnamese Gallantry Cross with Palm Unit Citation and the Australian Unit Citation for Gallantry.
