What is a bequest?
A bequest (or deferred gift) is an easy and versatile method of donation. You can make a bequest by placing a provision in your will to leave a portion of your assets to the Memorial.
How do I make a bequest?
Your financial adviser or the person helping you with your will can provide you with assistance in making a bequest to the Memorial. In some cases a bequest can have tax benefits to your estate or to you during your lifetime.
If you decide to make a bequest to the Memorial there are several options. Here are some examples:
- You can give a specific amount of money to the Memorial;
- You can leave a percentage of your estate to the Memorial;
- You can make a relevant gift to our collection;
- You can appoint the Memorial as an alternative beneficiary; for example, if the person or trust named in your will does not survive you or no longer exists at the time of your death, then you can nominate the Memorial in their place.
