OFFICIAL HISTORY OF AUSTRALIAN OPERATIONS IN IRAQ, AFGHANISTAN AND EAST TIMOR
Between 2007 and 2018, Dr Andrew Richardson was an Historian at the Australian Army History Unit, Department of Defence. In that role, he managed the Australian Army’s highly successful history publishing program with Cambridge University Press, Big Sky Publishing and the production of the Australian Army Campaigns Series. Andrew also coordinated the annual (than biennial) Chief of Army History Conference, oversaw the Army History Research Grants Scheme, managed the annual CEW Bean Prize, and wrote internal departmental history reports and Briefs, including historical support to the Australian Army Museum Network. Andrew holds a PhD from the University of Tasmania (2005), and, in addition to his role as co-author on Australian Peacekeeping Operations in East Timor 2000-1012 (with Dr William Westerman), continues his long term book project on an operational account for the Australian Army on the Battle of Hamel. He remains interested in the AIF in the Great War.
