Delusions in the whaler
Description
Jan Senbergs collaborated with Col Madigan, one of the Armidale survivors to create this work which forms part of a series of ten pastel drawings depicting the sinking of HMAS Armidale on 1 December 1942. On the eighth day when the survivors were on the whaler and it looked like all hope was lost the men had delusions. Here the artist has depicted an image of a communal delusion.
