Australian War Memorial Digitisation Collections - Seeking copyright holders

The Memorial’s Research Centre Digitised Collections team digitises archival collections at risk of deterioration. This process helps to preserve the original items and enables the selected collections to be accessed online in the future.

Adrian

The Memorial holds a Private Records collection that contains a letter written by Adrian, sent to Jonathon Vere (Jon) Hodge in 1991, regarding Operation Habitat and his arrival home to the United Kingdom. At the time, Adrian appears to have been serving with the Headquarters 3 Commando Brigade, Royal Marines.

Baillie John McKenny, 1938–2017

Baillie John McKenny was born on 17 May 1938.

The Memorial holds a Private Records collection related to O216393 Wing Commander Baillie John McKenny AFC. The collection contains identity cards, documents and photographs related to his service with the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP), Kashmir 1975, and the Multinational Force and Observers (MFO), Sinai 1985.

Baillie John McKenny died on 1 June 2017.

David James Burnett

The Memorial holds a Private Records collection related to 7100291 Private David James Burnett. The collection contains Burnett’s pocket diary that he kept during his deployment to Somalia with 1st Battalion, Royal Australian Regiment (1 RAR) from 1992 to 1993.

Eamon John Lindsay was born on 19 December 1942 in Tully, Australia.

Eamon John Lindsay was an Australian politician from 1983 to 1996.

Gordon Neil Bilney, 1939–2012

Gordon Neil Bilney was born on 21 June 1939 in Renmark, Australia.

In 1967, Gordon Bilney married Elizabeth Gunton, from then known as Mrs Elizabeth Bilney; this marriage ended in 1995. In 2002, Gordon Bilney married Sandra Colhoun. It is not known if these marriages produced children.

Gordon Bilney was an Australian politician from 1983 to 1996.

The Memorial holds a Private Records collection that contains some letters that former Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, Gordon Bilney, sent to Jonathon Vere (Jon) Hodge in 1991, regarding service conditions and financial concessions for those serving on Operation Habitat.

Gordon Neil Bilney died on 28 October 2012.

Ralph Lawrence Sadler, 1962

Ralph Lawrence Sadler was born in 1962.

The Memorial holds a Private Records collection related to 180644 Captain (later Major) Ralph Lawrence Sadler. The collection contains documents, newspaper clippings and notebooks related to Sadler’s service as Liaison Officer with the Australian Service Contingent on Operation Habitat in northern Iraq in 1991.
