‘The Goeben sent over a good number of shells this morning and succeeded in hitting one of the transports anchored off our position. It evidently did no great amount of damage, though a huge sheet of flame went up when it exploded, as it steamed off with the rest of the boats and anchored further off shore. There have been a fairly large number of casualties today.’
