Description
A view of the armament on the forward deck of the modified Leander Class cruiser HMAS Hobart from half way up the mast. The catapult for the Supermarine Walrus aircraft carried on the ship is in the centre. Off duty crew members sun bake on the deck. As an aid for identification from the air, a British style roundel has been painted on the roof of B turret. This would also make a fine aiming point for enemy dive bombers.
