Description
These men are tired... really tired... everyone was by the time they had managed to board a ship leaving Greece. They're tired but not disorganized... note the rifles; ready for instant action against dive bombers, the boys' biggest enemy. The men are aboard the Greek ship Else, being evacuated to Souda Bay in Crete. They are believed to be members of 4 Australian Wireless Section: left to right, VX10111 Signalman Frank Tasman Tatlow; Bill Potter; J. McLean (or NX26187 Frank Lionel Walker); and Harry Dempsey.
