Description
New Guinea. Sapper (Spr) Albert Tetley of Preston, Vic (left) and Spr Jim Stevenson of Ballarat, Vic, told American radio listeners of the exploits of the Australians in the Ramu Valley, when they were interviewed by Stanley Quinn (centre) over Radio Guinea. The talk was relayed over the Mutual Broadcasting network. 'We must ever be grateful to our Yankee cobbers' they said, 'who piloted the biscuit bombers to bring us precious supplies and ammunition. Biggest blow suffered by the Japs in our opinion was the loss of Shaggy Ridge'.
