Description

New Guinea. The RAAF has played a prominent part in the Allied campaign to drive back the Japanese in the South West Pacific and in raids and reconnaissance many of the planes have been manned by Australian personnel. Men of the Beaufort squadrons have been together for more than a year working as a team and they have wrought havoc among Tojo's men. During this inspection all working parts are pulled down and visually inspected and serviced. Work is done on fuselage, motors and armament by fitters, riggers and armourers. The aircraft of No. 100 (Beaufort) Squadron RAAF is jacked up into a flying position to harmonize the guns and enable the under-carriage inspection to be made.
