Description
Philippines. Group portrait of Lieutenant Donald Morrison of Adelaide, SA, skipper of HMAS Reserve and some members of his crew who spent their first Christmas in the Philippines off Leyte Island. The RAN tugboat, attached to Seventh American Fleet, has taken part as assault and rescue tug in landings at Cape Gloucester, Saidor Bay, Hollandia, Wakde Island, Leyte and Mindoro. Built in Texas for the British Royal Navy, it is one of three presented to Australia.
