As the barges set off from Milne Bay, Papua, on the last stage of the voyage to Jacquinot Bay members of the crew hang out their washing to dry. Nineteen ALC 40's and one ALC 120 of 41st Landing Craft Company, Royal Australian Engineers crossed the Coral Sea during the epic voyage from Cairns, Qld, to Jacquinot Bay on the southern coast of New Britain.
