General Sir Thomas Blamey (at the table) about to sign the surrender document on behalf of Australia. Behind General Blamey are the other members of the Australian delegation. The signing took place on board Admiral Nimitz's flagship USS Missouri. Allied delegations are lined up behind their delegation leader waiting their turn to sign the surrender document.
