Bakli Bay, Hainan Island. c. 28 August 1945. VX40002 Private C. G. O'Donnell, a member of the 2/21st Australian Infantry Battalion Group, standing alongside a fly-covered bag protecting the rice ration in the Australian section of the kitchen in the prisoner of war (POW) Camp. The Australians in this Camp were captured by the Japanese on Amboina early in 1942.
